Make Sleep a Priority for Healthy Skin

So many people spend hundreds, and even thousands, of dollars on skin care products and anti-aging remedies, yet neglect some of the most important parts of keeping their bodies young, fit and healthy. Truth be told, all the skin care products in the world cannot keep you looking young or keep your skin flawless if you don’t take care of yourself in other ways.
Make Sleep your Best Friend
Getting the appropriate amount of sleep will ensure that your skin remains healthy even more than all the best skin care products in the world can. Thus, the perfect mix of powerful lotions, creams and sleep can be the recipe you need to fight the signs of aging.
The reason that sleep is so important to your skin is that so many vital things happen while you are sleeping. This is the time when your body renews cells and produces the collagen you need for the glowing beauty you desire.

Sadly, most people are averaging barely six hours of sleep a night, when your body truly craves between seven and nine hours. This can be attributed to stress and sleep problems and the fact that many people lay in bed awake for up to an hour and a half after crawling under the sheets.  This lack of sleep really negates your body's ability to replenish your aging skin.
How to Get Better Sleep for your Skin
It is really important to make your time in bed a top priority. If you want to achieve a deeper and more effective sleep it is recommended that you take your wind down time seriously before getting into bed. You can take the first step by dimming all the lights in your house at least an hour before bed time. Light can prevent the chemicals in your body that lead to a deep sleep from spreading through your system.
You can also try to soak in a hot bath before bed which can help you relax and nod off in your bed much faster. You may even want to listen to soothing, soft music while in the tub in order to let your mind and body know that it is time to unwind and call it a night.
The key here is to stop neglecting the natural forms of anti-aging help that you can take advantage of. Sure expensive lotions and creams can be beneficial to fight wrinkles, but a good night's sleep could be the ingredient you are missing that is preventing you from achieving that glowing skin you have always desired.
